The City of Tea Tree Gulley in South Australia is currently upgrading a number of park and play spaces across the Council’s numerous suburbs, improving facilities for the areas growing population.

Young families increasingly spend more and more time in parks, enjoying the outdoors, and City of Tea Tree Gulley is keen to promote healthy outdoor living for local residents. To maximise use of our play spaces protection for the sun is essential, and a well-designed shade structure can greatly add to the user experience, providing a sun-safe environment for young and old alike.

Shadeform have been engaged by the Council to supply and install a range of shade structures over a number of play spaces, including the ever popular Shadeport at Neville and Pantowara Reserves, and a series of custom designed Hypar Shade Sails at Famechon and Kestral Reserves.

The scope for each reserve was set out by the Council’s landscape division to comply with their requirements as well as Australian Standards for shade provision. Shadeform were engaged to finalise the design process, obtain Engineering and all necessary approvals, and then undertake fabrication of steelwork, construction of footings and the manufacture and installation of Shade Sails or Shadeport.

On completion, each play space now benefits from an eye-catching shade structure, which adds to the user experience of parks in the Tea Tree Gulley area. Each Shade Structure provides benefits from both a practical aspect, where the deployment of shade is crucial to the safe use of such spaces, and from a visual point of view where the design of each shade structure only adds to the aesthetic appeal of these vibrant and welcoming community spaces.

This Australian made monofilament shade fabric is available in a wide range of vibrant colours and has an excellent 15 year warranty.

Shadeform use only the best fittings available on the market. Grade 316 stainless steel edge wires, D rings and galvanised heavy duty chain are generally used on large Commercial Shadecloth Sails, with durable galvanised or stainless edge cables being used on the Shadeport depending on the application.
